Shortbio

Roman Belter is a PhD student and research assistant at the Information Systems Institute. He has studied at the University of Leipzig and recived a Diploma degree in Management Information Systems in 2006. Roman Belter is currently working on his joint PhD thesis supervised by Bogdan Franczyk from the University of Leipzig and Leszek Maciaszek from Macquarie University (Sydney, AUD). His thesis is focused on novel approaches on service management in service computing infrastructures.
During 2008, Roman Belter was manager of the project “Innovation Lab for Moving Ambient Services” (IMAS) which was focused on building diverse services for mobile users.
In 2005 Roman Belter attended the national Microsoft Imagine Cup with an innovative mobile application project . He was one of the lead developers of four students from the University of Leipzig and the FH Merseburg. The project was awarded as the best project of the German Imagine Cup in the category software design. As the national winner the team took part at the international Imagine Cup 2005 in Yokohama/Japan. Here the team attained the final round of the sixth best national teams out of 35 and achieves finally the fourth place worldwide.
SmartRunner has been founded as company in October 2009. By today it is Germany`s largest Geotracking community.
