WLAN

WLAN is available in all rooms of the FRZ.
The following documents contain information on how to install WLAN.

Central printers

The OCE-printer located in the corridor next to the door to computer pool 3 can be used as printer by all computers in all pools. Its Windows-name is "Oce 3145 PCL5e (black/white)". Confidential prints can be saved by PIN.Der OCE-Kopierer im Flur rechts neben der Tür zum Rechnerpool 3 kann von allen Rechnern in den Pools als Drucker benutzt werden.

There is one more network printer left to the computer pool door. Its Windows-name is "TOSHIBA 3511 PCL5c (colour)". It’s a colour printer that can make copies up to the format   DIN A3. A colour copy of a DIN A4 page costs 40 cent. When using the pool printers you have to key in a five-figure PIN code otherwise printing is not possible.
The "TOSHIBA 3511 PCL5c (colour)" can also be used for scanning documents. Such documents are then either stored on drive S of the Novell-server NS1 or can be send by email. The scanning is free of charge.
When using one of these printers please note that you will find your printed documents on the display under the Windows login-name. The login-name is displayed for one minute at the work stations when you log in. It is a combination of the pool name and the work station number e.g. pool3pc2, pool6pc7 etc.
It is also possible to use the printers when you are working with your own notebook. You have to install the respective drivers. The address of the Oce 3145 is 139.18.211.100.The address of the Toshiba printer is 139.18.211.140. To find the corresponding driver click here.

Webmail

When you want to use your email- address on university servers, you can use the internet.
After activating https://mail.uni-leipzig.de a security advice will be displayed, which has to be answered with Yes. Then your username, password and the server name have to be entered.

When you want to use SSL-connections for your email traffic you can download the corresponding certificates from the University’s certificate server (http://www.pki.uni-leipzig.de/) and install them.
